Birchbox Review: May’s Gossip Girl box

Continuing with my Birchbox review series, this month’s box is dedicated to the show Gossip Girl. I’ve never seen the show before and never had any interest in watching it, so I was a little skeptical about this box.  When I opened the box to my surprise, I saw a full sized product which was the FusionBeauty LipFusion lip balm, which couldn’t have come at a better time because I was low on chapstick.

I also received a restorative conditioner by Ojon:

And lastly I got Arquiste Flor y Canto perfume sample and Caudalie hand and nail cream:

I really like the LipFusion lip balm! It makes my lips soft and its supposed to plump your lips but I don’t need that lol. My lips are naturally plump. I’ll continue to use it for moisturizing only. My next fave is the Caudalie hand & nail cream. I’m a big fan of hand lotion and Caudalie give a nice balance of moisture. It doesn’t make your hands greasy and the scent is awesome! The Arquiste Flor y Canto has a really light floral smell and I can see myself actually wearing for the spring and summer months. The only thing I haven’t tried yet is the Ojon restorative conditioner. I was going to be biased and not try it just because I thought it wouldn’t work in my hair. But when I take my twists out and wash my hair I’ll give it a shot. Overall this box was good. Have no complaints about the products in this months box.

My first Birchbox Review

So last week I told you guys that I joined Birchbox well I received my first box last Friday and I must say I was very pleased! The packaging was on point I didn’t even want to open the samples lol.

Wrapped inside my box was a very lovely welcome note from Birchbox and this month’s samples. I received food skin care samples by Be Fine

Viva la Juicy perfume sample, a Color club “Age of Aquarius” nail polish  and Show Stoppers nude strip sample

And lastly June Jacobs pumpkin enzyme polish facial scrub

Now I’ve only tried two out of the five samples and they were the Be Fine skin care samples and the Viva la Juicy perfume. I really dig the Be Fine Brown cleanser and the daily moisturizer with rosemary,pomegranate and rice. For 6 month I stopped using my University Medical( bootleg Proactive) skin care line and started using Ivory soap. Well even though the Ivory soap didn’t bother me I still felt like my face needed more TLC. So this Be Fine skin care line is really a good alternative. The cleanser made my skin feel clean and it didn’t dry out my skin and the moisturizer balances my skin out. Overall  Be Fine saves lives! Now the Viva la Juicy has a nice youthful smell but its not my steeze. I would recommend this perfume for girls who like light fragrance with a side of cuteness.
