New Nails Did: Simplified Bling

Hey folks!! Its been a long month since I had some acrylics and I’ve missed them so! lol With this set, I wanted a specific nail design that involved some fimo nail art slices that I bought on Etsy. But this new nail salon that I went to seemed a little bit clueless and tired from the ratchetness of some the  nail salon patrons, so I picked something else. It’s a simple collection of bling which adds a lil pizazz and doesn’t over do it. I was going to do 4 fingers instead of 2 but I was soooo tired and was getting impatient. Even though this wasn’t my original design plan, I’m happy how my nails turned out. Check it….

New Nails Did: Gel Manicure

Hey folks! I know you all are used to me with my acrylics and serious nail art but this go round I went different route. After my clutch my pearls design, I lost two nails and my other nails started to crack. That was a sign that I needed to take a break from acrylics. I saw my girl May and I told her I wanted to try the gel mani being that my nails are weak. She agreed and used the “Gelish” brand gel manicure system. I decided to do a nude color and just keep it simple. You can’t tell my the pic but there are hints of glitter in the color. Check it……

I think for a couple of weeks I’ll try the gel and shellac before I start using acrylics again.

Now when I get my nails did, you know my feet have to get the same treatment. For a while I was shitting on OPI’s Shatter line because the completely bit of Sally Hansen. ( Yes Sally came out with it first. It was called Crackle cira 2001) But I decided to but my pride a side and try it out and I must say it came out nice!

Nail polishes used: Jade is the new Black and Black Shatter by OPI. Shout out to my boy Izanja for the Nail polish hook up!

New Nails did(Playing catch up)

Being that I’ve neglected you guys for a month, I think its a good time to play catch up. Don’t you think? Here’s a some of my nails did August pics…

These I got done in the beginning of August at my regular nail spot. I was going for a girly look hence the hit pink and the 3d hearts but with a little edge hence the leopard print.

These I got done in the middle of August. I went to a new spot in BK to get these done due to my nail tech leaving her old spot for a new one. This new place does just as good if not better than my nail tech.

These big bright blue nails I got done last week back with my regular nail tech. I was wanted to plain Jane it out and go back round. I like my nails but I wasn’t really happy with my service but I’ll explain that in a later post.

New Nails Did: Fruits of my labor

Hey y’all sorry I haven’t been updating. Between my day job and blogging for FSF, I haven’t had the time to catch up with my blog. But no worries, I’m here and back with some new nails did. A while back I bought some fimo fruit slices nail art on ebay and wanted to try them out. I also purchased a new nail color from American Apparel called “Poppy” which I wanted to try as well. Together I pictured a dope ass nail design and my picture perfect idea came to fruition! Check it…….

 

 

New Nails did: Mint, bows, spray paint & pyramid studs

So after  not getting my nails done in a month, I finally hit up my nail spot yesterday. I asked on twitter what color should I use as the base red,blue or mint? And by popular vote mint won! I also wanted to add some pyramid studs and some 3d but wasn’t sure what to get. So my good friend Loni suggested that I get coral bows. Well my nail tech didn’t have coral acrylic so I opted for pink. Check it…

As you can see the bow looks purple instead of pink, so I wanted to add a little bit extra. I asked May if she could give my nails that spray paint /paint splatter effect. So she used a sponge and dipped it in black and purple nail polish and sponged my whole nail. I definitely loved how they came out! The colors scream Easter and are fun and funky

New Nails Did: Team round tips

For the longest I have been thinking about changing my claw pointy tips to round. I’m personally over the the pointy look and was also tired of ruining by best leggings with my claws. So yesterday I went to one of the many nail salons around my way and decided to switch it up. Check it:

Oh and if your wondering what that is on my middle finger its a snowflake. Thought I’d keep it festive! Thanks Cindy from Ava Nails!! I know your probably thinking damn no fancy smancy design? No not this time I decided to keep this nail design simple and focus on the shape of the nail. Plus my nail tech May is on vacay. lol

I’m definitely gonna stick with the round tips for a while. They will look dope when they are longer.
